Know Your Coach!
My name is Jane Harrington and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Science from Fitchburg State College. I have been involved in the fitness industry for several years. My true passions are sports, health, and improving people’s lives through exercise. I love finding ways to make fitness fun!
I have training experience in both corporate and private settings. I first started at Global Fitness (Leominster and Fitchburg) and trained there for over two years. I moved to western Mass in January 2008 and worked at Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness and LA Fitness.
I enjoy working with all populations and have experience with all ages and body types. I have successfully trained “the out of shapes” , the competitive athletes, young children, physical therapy patients, the elderly, the “working mother”, pregnant, to name a few.
At Global Fitness I worked as a Kid Kamp instructor/coordinator where I designed health and fitness programs for young children. At Global Fitness I was a Fit Traxx coach who designed fitness programs and also instructed group circuit training classes. I have experience teaching stability ball classes and “core conditioning.”
I am Body Training Systems “Group Ride” certified. I love teaching group fitness classes such as cycling, sculpt, and core conditioning. I coached 7th and 8th grade field hockey for three years and also conducted summer conditioning programs at the high school level. I am a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Throughout my life I have been passionate about health and fitness. I played varsity basketball for four years as well as field hockey, softball, and track. I have completed three Boston Marathons (3:24:04) and the Manchester City Marathon (3:21). I have competed in triathlons and I enjoy running in road races, cycling, horseback riding, and being outdoors.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I look forward to sharing my expertise and coaching you through the facts and the importance of exercise…including cardio, strength training, flexibility, and of course nutrition.
